How to take care of embroidery made with ribbons?
Before washing the finished work, make sure that the ribbons are well fixed on the backside. The embroidery can only be washed in the cool water with a mild detergent and dried in the expanded form. Never iron the finished embroidery made with ribbons! It is enough to iron the fabric from the backside, not touching the elements embroidered with ribbons with an iron. If in the process of washing the ribbons crumpled and lost volume, you can restore them in two ways:
1. Hold the iron with the supply of steam at a distance of 15-20 cm above the embroidery for a few seconds, without touching it with an iron. After that, lift the loops and stitches with needle or a wooden stick and let them dry.
2. Easily water the embroidery from the sprinkler so that it wouldn’t be too waterlogged. Then, as in the first case, lift the stitches and loops embroidered with ribbons using a needle and let them dry.
How to decorate the finished embroidered picture?
If you want to decorate the finished embroidery in a frame under glass, make sure that the ribbons are not flattened. For this purpose put a slip, a thin strip that lifts the glass above the ribbon pattern, between the passй partout and embroidery. Sometimes this effect is achieved using a double or triple layer of the passepartout.
If you decided to decorate the embroidery without the use of glass, be aware that it will gather dust. You can clean and freshen the embroidery with a hair dryer. Make sure that the air jet is not hot.
